This hotel is well-known for a reason. Well, a few reasons actually. Casa Fuster is a modernista gem in the middle of one of Barcelona’s trendiest areas, Passeig de Gràcia. Built by Lluis Domènech i Montaner in 1908, this stunning five-star hotel stands out on the street for its stunning architectural design. It’s also an UNESCO World Heritage Site, due to Lluis’ legacy. What’s more, right at the top there’s a roof terrace with fantastic views of the city, and an outdoor pool. El Palace is a bit of Barcelona's living history. The building, which first opened its doors in 1919, features a neoclassical façade, and elegant rooms that have been completely renovated. When you're hungry, get tapas and Mediterranean dishes at one of the in-house restaurants 19/Nineteen, or head to the Winter Garden restaurant, an intimate space on the hotel terrace. You can also start or end your night at Bluesman with a tasty cocktail and live jazz. After a bit of R&R? El Palace houses a Mayan-style spa with a Temazcal sauna.

This exclusive 22-room hotel is set in an 18th-century aristocratic house with views of one of Barcelona's most historic squares, Plaça Sant Felip Neri. It's also a bit different from your typical luxury hotel in looks, with its stone and wood decor giving it the cosy feel of a mountain home. One of the prettiest areas of this 30-room boutique hotel is its patio, full of greenery, and a spot in the back that's ideal for having a quiet drink. 

When a hotel's name has the word 'restaurant' in it, you know what their big selling point will be. Indeed, ABaC is one of only three restaurants in all of Barcelona to have earned three Michelin stars, thanks to renowned chef Jordi Cruz. This boutique hotel's 30 soundproof rooms are both cosy and spacious; you can even treat yourself to a suite with a private jacuzzi. There's no outside swimming pool, but if you head to the spa you can take a dip in the pool there, as well as lounging on heated stone chairs, and visiting the hammam.

The Barceló Raval is a cosmopolitan design hotel in one of Barcelona's most vibrant neighbourhoods. Set in an impressive oval-shaped building, the hotel's treasure is its 360º rooftop terrace bar, where you'll find binoculars dotted around, perfectly placed for zooming in on city landmarks. Attractions near enough to visit in just a few minutes on foot include the MACBA Museum, the Liceu opera house and La Boquería on La Rambla, the Columbus monument and the port beyond.

If you're looking to stay outside the centre of Barcelona, this strikingly modern, uptown five-star hotel that could be a great fit.
