Time Out says

The city's first cemetery that was built outside the walled perimeter was destroyed by Napoleon's troops and rebuilt in 1819 by the Italian architect Antonio Ginesi. It has a neoclassical design with an orderly and symmetrical design, in line with the tastes of the era. Some of the prominent people buried here are Narcís Monturiol, Josep Anselm Clavé, Narcís Oller, Mary Sampere and Cassen.
