Home ownership: it’s the Australian dream, and one that’s very hard to make a reality in this day and age. So it’s no exaggeration to say that the Royal Melbourne Hospital Foundation’s latest lottery could be utterly life changing for the winner.

The lottery’s hefty total prize pool of $7.4 million has as the jewel in its crown a $4.7 million Grand Prize. It includes a fully furnished Mazzei and Webster Architecture designed home at 25 Denman Avenue, Glen Iris, plus $50,000 in gold. Occupying a 696m2 block with 454m2 of living space, the house has four bedrooms, each with its own ensuite bathroom.

The furniture and styling has been curated by leading interior stylist Simone Haag. There’s an infinity pool, a formal sitting room, living area and upstairs rumpus area, and the whole place is equipped with state-of-the-art appliances. The property is fully landscaped by Nathan Burkett Landscape Architecture. Move in, rent it out or sell it – it’s your choice.

Other prizes to win in the Royal Melbourne Hospital Home Lottery include caches of gold bullions, luxury vehicles and overseas holidays. Buying a ticket early could pay off big. Purchasing tickets before August 19, 2022 gets you into every prize draw, including four frenzy draws, four bonus draws and a massive early bird prize. There are 15,680 prizes to be won in total.

What’s all this in aid of, you may ask? The Home Lottery supports the Royal Melbourne Hospital, one of Australia’s best hospitals. Your money helps fund patient care, new equipment and vital research to advance healthcare for everyone every day at the hospital. Single lottery tickets are $100, a three pack is $250, a five pack is $375 and a ten pack is $700.

If you can’t resist a stickybeak then we have some good news for you. The Glen Iris prize home is open to the public every Wednesday and on weekends, 1-5pm, from August 3, 2022. Go and have a look before the Grand Prize is drawn on October 13 (note – this date may change if the maximum ticket allocation of 227,000 tickets sells out early). See you in Denman Avenue!
