The Moon Festival, or the mid-autumn celebration, is soon upon us. This year, the auspicious occasion falls on the 10th of September, which means it’s time to start loading up on delicious mooncakes to give away to friends and colleagues, or to keep for yourself. 

As expected, the key players in the city’s mooncake scene remain the big hotels, which are in a neck-and-neck competition to create the most over-the-top packaging and unique fillings for their cakes.

As opposed to last year's futuristic moon-shaped mooncake box, Kimpton Maa-Lai Bangkok has gone with a whimsical route with its design inspired by the Chinese folklore of the noble Moon Rabbit.
