Summer in New England may be fleeting, but it is special. The sunny days, balmy nights and ocean breezes are what make our harsh winters all worth it. And in New England because there are so many worthy destinations within road trip distance of Boston, with a little planning you will never have a dull weekend all summer long.
This weekend the place to be is Tuscan Village in Salem, NH. Only 30 miles north of Boston, this quick road trip will pay off because there is a restaurant, market and beer garden all onsite. An there are some fun events going this weekend as well.
On Thursday, July 28 there is a “Tiki Takeover Party”. From 5-8pm guests will enjoy tropical drinks, tasty bites, live music and lots more. Tickets are $45 each and include two drink tickets—Hawaiian shirts encouraged!
Then on Saturday Tuscan Village’s Annual Food Truck Festival rolls in. No tickets are required, bring the whole family for lots of foodie fun. Enjoy the day on the spacious patio or at a picnic table in the beer garden. And of course, there will be plenty of libations available, both adults and kids.
However, if you are simply in the mood for quality Italian food, book a table at Tuscan Market. Their signature pizzas, pastas and antipasti are sure to delight on this quick road trip, especially when paired with a refreshing Aperol Spritz (the Limoncello Spritz is also worth a try!).
Last but not least, before you head home, stop by the Mercato to pick up a few goodies to bring a piece of la dolce vita home with you. Whether you go for some pasta, prosciutto or pastries, Tuscan Village prides itself on sourcing all the best products straight from Italy. So, break out the cookbooks and try your hand at recreating one of your favorite dishes and pair it with a chilled glass of Vermentino while you’re at it (they sell wine at the Mercato as well!).
