Pangina Heals has made Thailand proud. The country’s most famous drag queen, co-host of Drag Race Thailand and the owner of drag bar House of Heals recently competed in RuPaul’s Drag Race UK vs the World, the international edition of the immensely popular drag competition, and impressed both the judges and worldwide audiences with her fierce performances and skills.

If you haven’t seen the show, please skip this paragraph as a spoiler is coming! Sadly, Pan Pan Narkprasert (Pangina’s real name) was cruelly eliminated by British competitor Blu Hydrangea (who later on slayed the entire competition and won the crown) and placed sixth overall.

We were still delighted, nevertheless, to see Pangina achieve a global breakthrough and represent the country on an international stage. In the meantime, we’re curious to see if there are any other drag queens in the country who can follow in Pangina’s footsteps and compete in the next edition of International Drag Race (if there’s one).

We mined the drag scene in Thailand and came across these 11 drag artists and performers who possess loads of charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent, and deserve their own spot of recognition.

Amadiva

Looking for one fierce lip-syncer? Amadiva is here and won’t disappoint. Despite her shocking elimination on the first season of Drag Race Thailand (where she got the chop alongside Filipino queen JAJA), Amadiva still maintains a strong presence in Bangkok’s drag scene, performing in many gigs that see her slay the stage.

Angele Anang

Angele Anang is iconic on so many levels. First, she single-handedly slayed Drag Race Thailand’s second season and went on to win the coveted crown. What’s more, she’s the very first transwoman to compete on the Thai franchise. Next stop, RuPaul’s Drag Race vs the World?

Année Maywong

If we have to pick one queen to represent Thailand on the next edition of RuPaul’s international competition, Année Maywong would be on the top of our list. She’s an all-around performer that can stun with gorgeous finery from head to toe. Plus, her life story as a daytime government worker makes her even more interesting.

Natalia Pliacam

Prior to snatching the crown on season one of Drag Race Thailand, Natalia Pliacam was thriving in the drag scene for over a decade. When not dressing up in flamboyant wigs and ensembles, Natalia oversees her family’s business of selling coffins and sacred statues! You can read our interview with her here.
