About the three Time Out Rising Stars:

Kate Wertheimer – Editor, Time Out Los Angeles

Since taking over as editor of Time Out Los Angeles, Kate has overseen steady digital growth, launched a print magazine and assembled a formidable team of journalists on the West Coast. She has led that team to make this one of the fastest-growing titles in the company’s portfolio, surpassing the team’s ambitious expectations. Kate is one part manager, one part journalist and one part brand ambassador making regular media appearances.

Her strong digital strategy across written content, social media and video has resulted in record-breaking traffic and fantastic results for Time Out and its advertising partners. In September 2016, Kate successfully launched the free quarterly Time Out Los Angeles magazine in response to the desire of both consumers and advertising partners.

Virginia Gil – Editor, Time Out Miami

As editor of Time Out Miami, Virginia led the launch of the brand in the Florida market. In only one year, she has established Time Out Miami as a serious player in the local online media industry with her dynamic, creative content, her innovative ideas and her ability to forge relationships in the city.

Virginia oversees all content geared toward Miami residents as well as visitors to the city to inspire and enable them to make the most of this city. She has led the website to a record number of visits and strong growth on social media. She also launched the first Time Out Miami free quarterly magazine in November 2016, targeting further growth of the brand, audience, engagement and digital reach as well as providing increased value to advertisers.

Alexandra Early – Editor, Time Out New York Kids

Alexandra is the editor of Time Out New York Kids, both in print and online. In 2015, she led a major design and editorial overhaul of Time Out New York Kids to make it an even more exciting and creative read thanks to a mix of engaging features, of-the-moment blog posts and branded content campaigns.

Under her guidance, Time Out New York Kids has increased the annual number of magazine issues from four to six and, thanks to her exceptional multi-platform skills and knowledge of what will perform online, the website has seen steady digital growth.
