This week, the 2021 EMpower 50 Advocates Executives List was announced celebrating senior leaders who are championing and advocating for their ethnic minority colleagues. Time Out Group CEO, Julio Bruno has been selected as part of the index of leaders, which includes CEO’s from ITV, IHG, The LSE, AB InBev and many more. Those named are striving towards removing career barriers for ethnic minority employees within their business and industry.
As CEO of Time Out Group Julio ensures that the company, which operates in 58 countries, reflects the diversity of the 328 cities it serves. In February 2021, Julio joined the pledge If Not Now, When?, which demands action for #blacklivesmatter with agreed actions for clear and positive change. In signing, Time Out Group committed to reporting on the sustainable and long-term actions implemented to address Black inclusion in the workplace. Already, Julio has reviewed the businesses hiring practices to ensure opportunities are being provided to a diverse range of job applicants. Julio has also overseen the implementation of a D&I portal and education programme as a global resource for all staff to help fight conscious and unconscious bias.
